A prominent chieftain of the People Democratic Party, Chief Raymond Dokpesi has revealed why a southern candidate can never win 2023 general election.

Earlier today, during a live interview, the media mogul was asked different questions, which he willingly provided answers to, he talked about his trial, gave a review of Buhari administration, and what was the mechanism behind Atiku gaining the last presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party about two years ago.

A lot of crises have been reported from members of the Peoples Democratic Party since the issue of zoning towards the 2023 general elections surfaced.

Some faction of the party (the likes of Engineer Seyi Makinde and Governor of Edo State, Nyesom Wike) supports that the party’s candidate should come from the southern region, while Governor Ikuwale supports that the candidate should come from the Northern part, while Atiku and others believed that zoning should not be used, this has led to disagreement between the two opposing members.

Dokpesi, earlier today with some reasonable and prominent reasons, stated why a southern candidate can never win 2023 election.

He said “Repositioning needs to be carried out in PDP party, we need to sit down and think through what made us lose the 2015 general election? Though I have a strong belief that the 2015 election was sighed to prevent this we have to adopt a new strong party structure, search for the best candidate regardless of origin, and know why they were able to rig the election.
Though the inexperience of party leaders then, played a huge part, but once bitten twice shy, we have to choose the right set of leaders and candidate”.

“Zoning should not be used, a southerner cannot win the election because we are outnumbered, if our political opponents present a northern candidate, the truth is that we will lose the election confidently”.
