Former Vice President and presidential candidate Atiku have revealed his stance about PDP ticket zoning for the 2023 presidential election.
There had been so much turmoil in the People Democratic Party over the issue of the presidential election ticket zoning; some are supporting that the ticket should be given to the South, while some prefer that the ticket be zoned to the North.
Due to the gravity of the issue, a Zoning Committee was elected, led by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State to research into the matter, and the best region for the presidential ticket.
The committee gave a report earlier this week, and prefer that the ticket be zoned to the North, this decision did not sit down well with members of the political party, the likes of Governor Seyi Makinde Of Oyo-State, Governor Wike of Rivers State, and others said that the presidential ticket should be zoned to the South, this later led to arguments and fights before the meeting was suspended indefinitely.
Earlier today, Abubakar Atiku revealed his stance about PDP ticket zoning for the 2023 presidential election. Recall that rumors have been spreading that the former presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party in the 2018 election but lost to President Buhari, is also planning to contest for the 2023 presidential election under the party.
Atiku stated that ” Members of PDP have the absolute right to choose the zoning of the presidential ticket, but discrimination should not be tolerated during the process”.
