During a town hall meeting organized by Channels Television, the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, stated that he does not understand why Boko Haram terrorists are existing and hiding in the North, especially in Borno State, pointing out that there’s no place to hide there.
He revealed that while he was returning from a journey from Europe and they were 30 feet above the earth, he saw a man walking in Borno State. He further stated that he was once a customs officer who served in Borno State, and he is quite familiar with all the areas in the state. He revealed that he would tackle insecurity when he became president.
According to him, “I still can’t understand why we should have Boko Haram.” I served in Borno State, in the Northeast, and as a customs officer, I patrolled the entire Northeast, so I’m very conversant with the vegetation and the border areas. I still cannot find a place in the Borno area where anybody can hide and not be seen. I cannot honestly understand the Boko Haram phenomenon. Sometimes, when returning from Europe, 30 feet above the earth, I saw a man walking in Borno State, so where is the place to hide?
