Tension has continued to rock the Edo State House of Assembly, the crisis took a new turn after lawmakers dragged Obaseki to the code of conduct Bureau.
Recall that, new 14 lawmakers were elected during the last assembly election in Edo State, but their inauguration has been pend by Obaseki Godwin, the Executive Governor Of Edo State.
However, in a bid to protest for their right, the new 14 lawmakers dragged Obaseki to the code of conduct Bureau over alleged issues of misuse of power and political recklessness.
The petition was headed by Honourable Victor Edohor, a former speaker of the house of Assembly who urged the Code of Conduct Bureau to investigate Obaseki’s political recklessness, after failing to sign a proclamation letter for the inauguration of the new lawmakers.
Dr. Washington Osifo, the leader for the 14 lawmakers-elect, stated to the code of Conduct Bureau that a minimum of 24 members was stipulated to be the Edi State House of Assembly but only 10 members are present and called for the help of the neutral body to political recklessness of the Governor in Edo State.
Prof. Mohammed Isah, the chairman of the bureau affirmed to the lawmakers that the petition will be investigated.
