Ibrahim Salami, the lawyer of the arrested Oduduwa nation agitator, has revealed why Benin Republic has not released Igboho from prison.
Recall that, Sunday James Adeyemo also called Sunday Igboho, has been left alone to face his travails and sufferings alone after he was arrested by Benin Republic officials about three months ago.
Igboho led the secession of the Yoruba land, he was supported by many colossal figures like; Femi Fani- Kayode, Prof. Akintola, Ooni Of Ife, while he was also got trolled by others, which got him under the watch list of the Nigerian Government, and others.
His house was attacked by DSS officials on June 1, 2021, things turned out bloody and two of his aides got killed, this made the agitation fighter take to his heels. But unfortunately, he was arrested at an airport in the Benin Republic after he was accused of acquiring a fake passport to pass through Cotonou to fly to Germany, after he was arrested, the Nigerian Government requested his extradition but was rejected by the Authorities due to unknown reasons.
During an interview with BBC News Yoruba lawyer revealed why Benin Republic has not released Igboho from prison, stating that the Benin Republic official is considerate of the safety of Igboho, we have engaged in different talks with the authorities to release him on medical grounds.
