After the former pension chairman was sentenced to 61 years imprisonment, during his transit to a correctional building an unknown reason caused the Prison officers and EFCC to face off Over Sentenced Maina.
Recall that, BestNews Team reported that the former pension chairman, Rasheef Maina was sentenced to prison by Justice Okon Abang, the presiding judge of the Federal High court, Abuja after he was found guilty of embezzling 2 billion intended to pay pension for retired civil servants, and also using fakes names yo open bank account used in laundering huge amount of money.
According to sources, the Economic Financial Crimes Commission ambushed the correctional facility van, to arrest the sentenced which caused the Prison officers and EFCC to face off over Sentenced Maina.
The EFCC operative attempted to arrest Maina, though the reasons behind their actions have not been justified, that the timely intervention of senior EFCC officials calmed the situation.
