Suspected members of the terrorist sect, Boko Haram attack a Military Camp In Bornu yesterday.
BestNews Investigative Journalist reported that three gun trucks possessed by members of the Boko Haram sect were used to attack the military camp in Bornu, Tamsukwu town, situated in Kaga Local Area.
The terrorists were alleged to have left their base in Sambisa Forest, stormed the military base in military uniform, and attacked the soldiers with full force, chanting “Allahu Akbar” (‘God is great in Arabic).
The few who were on duty tried to repel the attack, a heavy gun duel ensued with members from both sides getting killed or injured.
However, the fight ended after one hour of sporadic shooting, when a fighter jet and troops of the Nigerian soldiers reinforced to the camp, and the terrorist fled for safety.
Later on, scores of dead bodies were found after the fight ended, but the number of casualties has not been ascertained yet.
When Modu Fanami, Maiduguri Sector 3, Commander of Civilian Joint Task Force was contacted, he affirmed the incident and revealed that the number of casualties has not been ascertained.
