In a recent statement, Nigerian crossdresser Jay Boogie, born Daniel Anthony Nsikan, responded to accusations of dishonesty regarding his health after undergoing cosmetic surgery. Last month, Jay revealed complications from liposuction and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), leading to infection and acute kidney injury.
Denying allegations of fabricating a medical condition for financial gain, Jay emphasized that there were genuine post-surgery complications.
He explained, “On the 30th October 2023, I had a BBL and Liposuction at CGE AESTHETICS… My urine for 12 hours was less than 200ml, and the surgeon began to panic.”
A friend and Nigerian doctor, Loveth Jennifer, had previously shared on Instagram that Jay required a kidney transplant, seeking financial assistance. However, a GoFundMe organizer later claimed they would return donations due to suspicions about the authenticity of Jay’s ailment.
Clarifying the situation, Jay stated, “I NEVER POSTED I NEEDED KIDNEY TRANSPLANT, I only posted I needed donations for my hospital bills.” He acknowledged media pressure and public scrutiny, mentioning, “I went offline for my mental health because the bullying was too much and I was getting death threats.”
Despite facing challenges in securing a hospital bed for treatment.
Jay asserted, “I NEVER SCAMMED NIGERIANS, I NEVER LIED, AND I DID NOT DEFRAUD ANYONE. I HAD SEPSIS AND ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY, AND I WAS ON DIALYSIS.”
Expressing gratitude for the support received, Jay concluded, “I want to thank everyone that donated and reached out to me during my ordeal, and I want to assure them I never lied or scammed Nigerians about my situation.”
