President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, will never be released.

In a recent interview with Channels, Buhari stated that he would not interfere with the courts.

Remember that some Igbo leaders met with President to demand Kanu’s unconditional release.

Buhari said that it was a difficult decision to make, but that he would consider it.

When asked if KANU would be released, Mr. President responded, “We cannot free Nnamdi Kanu.” It does not have a political solution. His case will be heard by the courts. One of the promises I made to myself was that I would never interfere with the judiciary’s work. I’ve given him a chance to present his case.

Kanu has made a mockery of us. He was given incorrect information and made nasty statements about us. He needs to accept accountability for his conduct.

It’s worth remembering that Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is facing treason charges from the federal government.
