Kanu speaks on “senseless killings” in southeast

Kanunta Kanu, one of the younger brothers of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Tuesday called for an end to the mindless killings and destructions going on in the southeast region of Nigeria.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Kanunta Kanu in a post on his known Facebook page expressed his displeasure with the security situation in the southeast.

“Enough of this senseless killings and destructions of properties in Biafra land,” Kanu wrote.

The resurgence of the activities of the ominous unknown gunmen in the South-East geopolitical zone since Kanu’s arrest in June last year is becoming worrisome.

With the recent incidents in some communities in the zone particularly Imo, Ebonyi, and lately Abia (a hitherto relatively peaceful state), it is no longer in doubt that the unknown gunmen are on the prowl again in the region which prides itself as the most peaceful, enterprising and resourceful in the country.

While the government continues to point accusing fingers at IPOB, the pro-Biafra group always deny being responsible.
