According to Channel TV news, it was revealed that unknown gunmen attacked Police Station in Anambra, North Local Government Area.
Recall that this unfortunate incident is coming after Dr. Chike Akunyili, a socio-political figure was murdered by some gunmen, with his driver and a mobile police escort, on his way from an event at the University Of Nigeria, where he received an award on behalf of his wife before he met his untimely death.
It was also revealed that some officers present in the building are feared dead. After the attack by the unknown gunmen, the police station was also set ablaze, with some police trapped in the building.
When the police commissioner was contacted, he did not comment on the incident and claimed that he had not yet been briefed or garnered any information regarding the information.
However, the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has revealed that he placed a bounty of 20 million on whoever can reveal or provide any facts or information that will lead to the arrest of the unknown gunmen perpetrating evil acts in the state while also sending his condolences to the Akunyili’s family, as well as other people involved.
He also addressed the issue about unknown gunmen that attacked Police Station in Anambra, stating that all the perpetrators would be fished out.
