A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has declared bandits as terrorists in Nigeria.
The application was forwarded to the court by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Ministry of Justice, Abubakar and Aminu Kayode Alilu.
Who claimed that the criminal acts perpetrated by bandits in the country have been on rising for the past few years. Insecurity, violence, kidnapping, abduction, unjust killing, oppression, and violation of fundamental human rights.
After many sessions, Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court declared bandits as terrorists in Nigeria.
The Justice stated that attacks and criminal acts have been increasing in some regions of the country, which have always been traced to Bandits who claim to be bigger than the rule of law.
Bandits have on several occasions broken the rule of public order and safety and have posed a lot of threats to the Nation, their acts can be regarded as terrorism to the Nation and they ought to be treated as one.
