Nollywood vetran actor, Jim Iyke reason for not following anyone on social media and why he trained his kids to avoid social media
On an interview with media personality, Temisan Emmanuel who is live on air with tay podcast, the OAP tweak Jim Iyke who is a Nolloywood artist to reveal why he is not following anyone not even a fellow colleague on Instagram or any other social media account
Despite having over 2million followers, the Nollywood have no single person who he is following has however tend to give his honest reason for that in a live interview
Jim Iyke opined that Instagram was a ‘’pseudo” reality and that it should be taken as routine activities of people life
The veteran Nollywood star on his interview said that: “from day one I got on social media, I didn’t want to follow anybody. I wanted to establish the fact that this is a market place. It’s pseudo reality there. It’s not what people want to take as their everyday life”
“If you see any of my posts, it’s tailored. I don’t post about my family. I don’t post my pleasures. There are certain things I think should be left for one to experience alone.
“There are three tiers of life that I live. I live the private life, the public life and the secret life”
“Social media is public life. If I want to make a statement in style, if I want to make a statement on my ideology and principels, if I want to market something, or if I want to set a new understanding on my opinion of something that is where I should be”
“If I’m having a good time with people that don’t mind being on that platform, I go there”
In addendum, the Nollywood star also give a fair reason why he is also grooming his children to avoid getting used to social media as their action may be judged wrongly by the public if they do appeared on the general site regularly.
He said: I have kids that run the mall at every part of the world and no one will say, ‘I know that face’“
