Popular renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Gumi, has sent out a warning to court and Buhari that bandits are not terrorists.
This is coming after a Federal High Court sitting in Abia declared bandits as terrorists in Nigeria after receiving an application from the Director of Public Prosecution of the Ministry of Justice, Ahmad Abubakar who begged the court to make the declaration and ordered that they should be treated as one.
Earlier today, in an interview, Sheikh Gumi, sent out warming to a court and Buhari that bandits are not terrorists, and the declaration was driven by prejudice and bigotry.
“IPOB is an organization, but all Igbos cannot be regarded as a member, Boko Haram is an association, but we cannot term it Kanuri! Boko Haram was being declared as terrorists, then what can we declare bandits?
“IPOB now was declared as a terrorist, as anything changed! America, European Union, United Nation did not recognize the declaration, they were not sanctioned or stopped from traveling or performing any other activities”.
” Bandits commit terrorism but they are not terrorists.”
