The body of the deceased Sylvester Oromoni was autopsied by the Nigerian Police Force, who then returned the remains to his parents.
On November 30, the 12-year-old died after being allegedly bullied by seniors at his school, Dowen College, and given a weird substance to drink.
Police have taken custody of five students and three housemasters.
Adekunle Ajisebutu, the state police command’s spokeswoman, said in a statement on Friday, December 17 that an autopsy had been performed and that the results were pending.
He said: ”Sylvester Oromoni: autopsy done. Result is being awaited. Corpse released to family for burial. Investigation ongoing.”
