Patrick Boamah, a member of Ghana’s parliament, has asked the country to forfeit its 2022 World Cup qualification match against Nigeria.

In March, Ghana will face Nigeria in a two-legged playoff to determine who will compete in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

And legislator Boamah does not want his country to waste time facing Nigeria, whom he believes is a significantly superior team to the Black Stars.

The Black Stars had a poor performance at the present Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, finishing last in their group and failing to win a single game.

“If need be, we should dissolve our national team and prepare a team over the next five years,” Boamah said on the floor of parliament, according to Citi Sports via Goal.

“We should not waste our time playing Nigeria in the next World Cup qualifier.

“Look at the team Nigeria has, even though they are out of the tournament, I don’t think with this current set-up, we can stand the Nigerians.”
