Tragic End: Nigerian Businessman Allegedly Takes Own Life After N2.5 Million Betting Loss

In a heartbreaking incident, Onoh Chukwuka Richard, a Nigerian entrepreneur from Arochukwu Local Government Area, reportedly took his own life following a devastating N2.5 million loss in betting over the weekend.

Using the pesticide known as sniper, Richard was rushed to a hospital in Abia state, where his demise was confirmed by the attending doctor. Prior to this tragic event, he posted a cryptic message on Facebook, indicating an impending tragedy, saying, “Today is my last day on earth. Going to meet my maker,” and expressing gratitude to friends.

In another post, Richard lamented losing 2.5 million naira in a bet, with 1.2 million borrowed. He expressed concern about repaying the debt and attributed his descent into gambling to unemployment. Conversations with friends revealed his distress, with Richard mentioning the possibility of his death as a way to escape confronting his creditor, ultimately leading to the tragic decision to end his own life.
