Men of the Nigeria Customs Service stationed at the Port Harcourt 2 Area Command have countered and handed over some ammunitions to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The ammunitions were recovered at the Onne Port in a containers being shipped into Nigeria from the United States of America.
The Area Controller, Baba Imam reported that a handgun and ammunition represented as household utensils were kept inside the vehicle where they were discovered by eagle-eyed operatives after a thorough search.
He further revealed that his station have also confiscated some other illegal ammunitions being shipped into the country through the port.
He said, “We have on display today a total number of nine seized containers for violations and contraventions of extant import laws. These containers are currently in our government warehouse.”
“These seizures include used clothing, used tires, used vehicles used in concealment of 76.9kg of special cannabis which is marijuana, tomato paste, cough syrup with codeine and many other items.”
