Nigerian music sensation Davido has expressed concern and support for fellow artist Rema, who recently announced the cancellation of all December shows to prioritize his health. In a brief Instagram statement, Rema acknowledged neglecting his health during years of touring and emphasized the need for recuperation.

He wrote, “Breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing anywhere this December. Been years of touring I’ve ignored my health & I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again love.”

In response, Davido commended Rema for his dedication and achievements in the industry, acknowledging the physical and mental challenges artists face.

He wrote on Instagram, “The job ain’t easy…physically and mentally!! You’ve done Africa and the world proud beyond expectations. Get some rest king @heisrema, come back stronger.”

Rema, who recently sold out London’s 02 Arena, faced controversy regarding alleged ‘satanic/Illuminati’ symbols used during his performance. Riding a horse and later a bat with red eyes, Rema’s artistic choices led some fans to speculate about Illuminati associations. Responding on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Rema clarified that his imagery drew inspiration from Edo culture. The artificial horse represented a Benin artifact, and the mask mirrored the famous Queen Idia mask.

Rema explained that his second entrance on a bat was a homage to the bats in the Edo night sky, dispelling any notions of promoting Illuminati symbolism.
