Soludo Enforces Anambra Burial Law Starting With Father’s Funeral, Trims Expenditure

In adherence to the Anambra State Burial Law of 2019, Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s family has announced the final rites of passage for their late father, Pa (Nze) Simeon N. Soludo, with a commitment to reducing excesses and expenses associated with funerals.

Chief Emma Soludo, the elder brother to the governor, released a statement emphasizing the family’s dedication to the burial law, which discourages extravagances during burial ceremonies. The law prohibits the erection of billboards, banners, or posters of deceased persons across the state, with violations carrying fines or imprisonment.

The family expressed gratitude for the condolences received since Pa Simeon’s demise on November 6, 2023, at the age of 92. In line with the Anambra State Burial Law, the Soludo family outlined the burial plans to include strict compliance with the law’s provisions.
