Sahara reporter CEO and #revolutionNow leader, Omoyele Sowore has won the Department Of State Security Servic, DSS in a suit he filed over alleged violation of human rights in court.
Recall that, in 2019, Sowore was released severally by the DSS officers over his involvement in Buhari must go campaign and other human right cases.
However, an eventful arrest happened on August 4, 2019, when the DSS apprehended him in Lagos, and all his belongings, phone, and money was taken from him.
Popular Human Rights Activist, Funmi Falana, stood up for him and sued the DSS for infringement of fundamental human rights.
The trial took place today which Sowore won the Department Of State Security Service, DSS at a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, and was awarded a sum of 2 million.
Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Abuja Federal High Court stated that the act of seizing his phone without a warrant was illegal, and the Security forces had to pay him for damages done.
