Ozubulu Axis Of Onitsha – Owerri Expressway Under Reconstruction Opens To Traffic

Significant progress has been made on the reconstruction of the Ozubulu axis of the Onitsha – Owerri express road, which was obstructed by a landslide, causing disruptions for road users.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, upon being notified of the issue, personally inspected the site and promptly awarded the reconstruction project to the reputable contractor, TAMAD Construction Company, with the aim of restoring the road for immediate use.

Following the governor’s directive, the road has now been fixed and reopened to traffic. Additionally, erosion control work is ongoing in the area affected by the landslide. The construction firm is actively engaged in filling the gully erosion by bringing in materials, including sand, and compacting it to address the gully.

Engineer Tony Madi, the Site Manager, provided insights into the project, stating that the gully was initially twenty-two meters deep. He assured that the construction team is working diligently to complete the project within the stipulated six-month timeframe.

Expressing gratitude, Madi thanked Governor Soludo for providing the necessary funds to facilitate the project and pledged that TAMAD Construction Company would deliver a quality job.
