In response to the ongoing economic turmoil caused by the devaluation of the Nigerian Naira, the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), Mazi Simon Ekpa, has announced the creation of a new digital currency called “Biafracoin”.
This decision was made after the passing of the Biafra Digital Currency Act 04/2024, which allows the BRGIE to issue its own digital currency to Biafran citizens.
According to Ekpa, one unit of Biafracoin is equivalent to one United States Dollar. He encourages Biafrans to begin investing in Biafracoin now, as it will be listed on major stock exchanges worldwide and accepted in all cryptocurrency transactions.
This move comes at a time when the Naira’s value continues to decline, making it difficult for many Nigerians to conduct business or save money effectively.
