In a recent case presented at the Kabushi Local Court in Zamfara, Ronald Kaputo expressed distress over his wife’s suspicions of infidelity, leading to bizarre and troubling actions within their marriage.
Ronald Kaputo detailed his wife Maggie Chiluba’s extreme behavior, stating, “Most times when she wants sex and I tell her that I am tired, she gets upset. She checks my private parts and accuses me of sleeping with other women.”
He added, “If I sleep with my shorts on, she will get a razor blade to tear. I have no peace in this marriage.”
Maggie Chiluba, who had initiated the proceedings for marriage reconciliation, countered and claimed that their marital bliss took a downturn in February when Ronald started coming home late.
She alleged, “One night, I followed him and saw him entering a certain house. When I knocked on the window, he came out and beat me in the presence of his girlfriend.”
The couple, married for four years without children have faced additional challenges, with Ronald noting, “My wife does not respect me and has got to the stage that she pours her urine from the chamber pot on me when I am sleeping.”
He also mentioned that Maggie discourages his relatives from visiting, accusing them of trying to ruin their marriage.
Despite the tumultuous situation, Maggie expressed hope for their relationship.
She said, “I brought him here so that the court can counsel us because I still believe this marriage can work.”
Presiding over the case, Senior Magistrate John Kabwe, alongside Emeldah Masuwa, aimed for reconciliation. Magistrate Kabwe offered guidance, emphasizing ways for the couple to find harmony in their relationship.
