Stella Maris, the wife of ailing Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has reportedly taken drastic actions against their adopted daughter, Jasmine, and Mr Ibu’s sons. Nollywood actress Doris Ogala shared the shocking news on her Instagram page, revealing that Jasmine and the sons are currently detained at Alagbon Police Station in Ikoyi, Lagos.
According to Doris Ogala, Stella Maris accused Jasmine of moving a substantial amount, specifically N300 million, from Mr Ibu’s bank account. The arrest was prompted by allegations that Stella claimed Jasmine misappropriated funds intended for Mr Ibu’s medical treatment. Stella is reported to be demanding the purchase of a new house with the funds contributed to support the actor’s health.
However, Doris Ogala’s statements reveal a contradiction in Stella’s claims. The investigation reportedly showed that the total amount contributed for Mr Ibu’s treatment did not reach the alleged N300 million. This revelation raises questions about the accuracy of Stella’s accusations against Jasmine and her sons.
This incident follows recent controversies surrounding Stella Maris and the funds donated by well-meaning Nigerians for Mr Ibu’s health. There were earlier reports of Stella making questionable demands and attempting to divert the donated money to support her lavish lifestyle and personal vehicle purchase.
In response to these allegations, Stella Maris took to Instagram to address the situation. She dismissed the accusations as malicious and claimed that Jasmine was spreading false rumors about her. Stella also suggested a plot to remove her from the marriage and accused Jasmine of interfering excessively in her family affairs.
Stella Maris raised concerns about the bank account where donations are being made, asserting that it is secretly controlled by Jasmine. She alleges that Jasmine’s false accusations are an attempt to gain absolute control over the donation account.
