A 29-year-old man named Joshua Ajayi has been sent to jail for impersonating UNILORIN, dean of student affairs, Prof. Lanre Ajibade.

The trial took place at a High Court sitting in Kwara State. The case was brought up by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission who arraigned Joshua for scamming UNILORIN students of their hostel and school fees. Four-count charges were slammed against him by the EFCC, which he pleaded guilty.

His defending counsel, Andrew Okoja, checked out some facts presented, and tried to counter some evidence made by the EFCC before prosecution and conviction of his client as charged.

However the man, Ajayi was sent to jail by Justice Abdulgafar for impersonating UNILORIN, dean, and cheating students out of their money.

The Justice emphasized that the EFCC has proven to the court, according to the constitution, beyond doubt that Joshua was guilty of the Four charges slammed against him.

He was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for the four-count charges, which will run simultaneously.
