Just In: PDP Wins Bwari Area Council Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate won the Bwari Area Council Election.

The Federal Capital Territory Area Council election was held yesterday and was headed by the INEC Returning/Collation Officer, Professor Amuche Madu.

The election went free and fair, though there were reports of causality at a biting center where a woman was killed by a motorcyclist.

The counting for the poll started yesterday, but earlier today Mr. Madu, tur INEC chairman declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Shekwogaza Gabaya, won the Bwari Area Council Election.

Shekwogaza Gabaya was able to pull a total sum of 13,045 votes to emerge, winner, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Haruna Shekwolo, was following closely with 7, 697 votes.

Out of the ten councils, only two have been announced. Kuje Area Council was also won by a PDP candidate, Suleman Sabo.
