JAMB Bars Mmesoma From Sitting UTME For Next Three Years

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has taken a firm stance in the ongoing controversy surrounding the UTME result of Miss Joy Mmesoma. In a recent statement, JAMB announced that Mmesoma has been barred from sitting the examination for the next three years. Furthermore, the Board has withdrawn her alleged result pending further investigation into the matter.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Acting Director of the Public Affairs Department of JAMB, reiterated the Board’s earlier position that the UTME result presented by Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma is unequivocally fake. The statement emphasized that the JAMB system remained intact and uncompromised, while Mmesoma had simply falsified a copy of another candidate’s result slip.

To substantiate their claim, JAMB pointed out that Mmesoma inadvertently revealed the actual owner of the result she was parading by referring to the QR code on the result slip. The Board urged the public to scan the QR code to verify the true owner of the result before it was tampered with.

The statement also highlighted that JAMB discontinued the issuance of Notification of Result slips after the 2021 UTME due to rampant falsification. Instead, the Board has been issuing actual UTME RESULT Slips since 2022, complete with candidates’ photographs. Mmesoma’s use of the outdated “Notification of Result” raised suspicions.

JAMB expressed its lack of concern over this unfortunate situation, citing previous instances where the Board was sued for significant amounts of money, only for the plaintiffs’ lawyers to later apologize for their clients’ false claims. The case has been handed over to relevant security agencies for a thorough investigation to uncover the masterminds behind the alleged scam.

The Board welcomed public scrutiny and announced its readiness for an open public session involving various agencies and security forces, where Mmesoma, her parents or guardians, and her legal team would be present. JAMB also cautioned against the dissemination of fake news and urged the public to critically examine the issue at hand.

As the investigation continues, JAMB remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding integrity and ensuring that the truth prevails. The Board expressed confidence that the facts would eventually come to light, vindicating their position.
