Olasunkanmi Adeyemi, a distraught father, is pleading for help as his nine-year-old son, Emmanuel Adeyemi, mysteriously disappeared during a church’s evangelical outreach in the Orile-Agege area of Lagos on November 19.
Narrating the incident to PUNCH, Adeyemi shared the heart-wrenching discovery that his son went missing after they reached their destination. Despite reporting the case to the Elere Police Station in Agege, Lagos, the police have yet to determine Emmanuel’s whereabouts.
“We went for an evangelism outreach three weeks ago on Sunday… It wasn’t only my child who was in the bus; there were many other children there. After I gave him the drink, I went to the bus we were to go on and we began the journey. When we got to a place, we were given powdered milk, and I went to the bus where my child was to give him, but upon calling his name repeatedly, I was told there was no Emmanuel in the bus,” Adeyemi shared.
Expressing his anguish, he added, “Even as I am talking to you right now, I am sick, feeling dizzy and devastated. I’m not getting myself unless I find my child.”
While the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer is yet to comment, a police source confirmed the ongoing investigation into the missing boy’s case, with the parents summoned for further interviews at the headquarters.
