Gunmen Abduct 8 Women In Abuja Community Amid Rising Security Concerns

In a disturbing incident, unidentified gunmen stormed Gwombe village in Gwargwada Chiefdom, Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, abducting eight women. The incident took place around 5 pm on Monday evening while the women, all housewives, were harvesting benni seed on a farm.

According to Usman Yakubu, a resident of Gwargwada, the gunmen, armed with AK-47 rifles, suddenly appeared and surrounded the women. The victims were seized in the course of their agricultural activities.

Confirming the abduction, a chief from a village in the chiefdom, who chose to remain anonymous, disclosed that four of the abducted women were from the same house. He expressed suspicion that the gunmen responsible for the abduction might be individuals who had escaped from a nearby Kabbi village. These individuals were reportedly roaming the bush after some of their associates were neutralized by Miyetti Allah vigilantes over the weekend.
