FG Distributes Rice and Maize to FCT Muslims

The government gave 600 bags of rice and 200 bags of maize to the Muslim community in the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory.

Alhaji Rabiu Mohammed, the leader of the FCT chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), confirmed this when he gave the food items to the leaders of the Committee of FCT Imams Initiative on Thursday in Abuja.

He said that the palliative was meant to soften the blow of removing the petroleum subsidy by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The government gave us 600 bags of rice and 200 bags of maize. We are giving them to Sheikh Tajudeen Adigun, the Chairman of the Committee of the FCT Imams Initiative.

Mohammed said that the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) will give the items to the people in the FCT on behalf of the Federal Government.

He said that the Committee of Imams is part of JNI, which is a group that includes all Muslim organizations in the country.

He said that the group of religious leaders has the ability to help the people in all parts of the area. I want to give the items to the chairman of the FCT Committee of Imams on behalf of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI). They will then distribute the palliatives to all parts of the territory.

Adigun received the food. He said the committee decided to give 80 bags of rice and 30 bags of maize to each area council in the territory.

He said that other groups, such as the Jama’atu Nasral Da’awah and Muslim Community Centre, will also receive some of the food.

He said that some food will be given to poor imams. The trucks are being loaded and the imams and their representatives will follow the trucks to their mosques. By noon, there are people waiting for them. From there, it will be distributed in the presence of the emirs of those area councils.

The cleric praised the Federal Government for the assistance, saying that Islam teaches Muslims to be grateful for even small acts of kindness.

We appreciate the work done by the Federal Government. Nigeria is a large country. There are more than 200 million of us. I believe that it will take a long time for Nigeria to overcome the difficulties it is facing. However, we are grateful for the small efforts that the government is making. And we are motivating them to do more,” Adigun said.
