Reports have reached BEST NEWS NETWORK that a petrol station was seen on fire in Onitsha during the late hours of Sunday, 13th of November.

The incident happened at Boromeo roundabout, Akwa road in Onitsha after a petrol carrying tanker exploded with fire due to unknown reasons while trying to discharge fuel.

The scene caused chaos at the site, as the petrol station staff, attendants, and petrol Tanker driver had to run for the safety of their lives.

The indigenes quickly called firefighters immediately after the Petrol station was seen on fire in Onitsha.

However, the firefighters could not make it on time because of the gridlock they faced at Awka road, which couldn’t contain the inferno.

Anambra State Police Commissioner, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, affirmed the incident and also revealed that the Police had started an investigation to ascertain the cause of the incident.

The number of causalities is yet to be ascertained.
