Aston Villa have appointed Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard on a three-year deal. The former England international had been sought by many clubs prior to the sacking of Dean Smith who was relieved by Villa on Sunday.
Gerrard is seen as a new age manager whose philosophies brought success to Rangers last season, winning the Scottish Premiership unbeaten.
Gerrard’s contract runs until June 2024.
