“Are Israeli Lives Less Important?” – Hananya Naftali

In the midst of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, an Israeli internet personality, Hananya Naftali, has brought attention to what he perceives as a global silence on the kidnapping of Israeli civilians by Hamas. In a statement on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), Naftali expressed disappointment at the lack of outcry when compared to international reactions to similar incidents elsewhere.

Naftali drew a parallel between the situation in Israel and the global response to the abduction of more than 270 girls by Boko Haram in Nigeria. He pointed out that world leaders and celebrities took to social media to demand the release of the Nigerian girls, creating a significant international outcry.

However, Naftali noted a striking contrast when it came to the kidnapping of 240 Israeli civilians, including women and children, by Hamas.

According to him, the silence in this case has been deafening.

“When Boko Haram kidnapped over 270 girls in Nigeria, world leaders and celebrities posted photos on social media calling for their release,” Naftali stated. “When Hamas kidnapped 240 Israeli civilians, which includes women and children, the silence was deafening. Are Israeli lives less important?”
