Brain Jotter: From Earning N15,000 Monthly To Skit-Making Sensation

Nigerian skit maker, Brain Jotter, shared his journey from earning a monthly income of N15,000 three years ago to becoming a well-known figure in the entertainment industry.

At the age of 28, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel reflected on his early job as a laundry worker in 2020, which later doubled to N30,000 in 2021.

In 2020, my salary was 15k. By 2021, it had doubled to 30k,” he told HipTv.

Describing his 2020 job, he said, “I was working in a laundry after just gaining admission. Alongside the laundry job, I explored various other ventures”.

Despite his laundry job, Brain Jotter engaged in various entrepreneurial ventures during his university years, starting with selling doughnuts in his first year and later venturing into selling bedbug killer at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in his second year.

In my first year, I sold doughnuts in class,” the Imo State-born said. “In the second year, I sold bedbug killer at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), and in my third year, I drove to school.”

His entrepreneurial spirit continued to evolve, culminating in his breakthrough in 2020 when he began sharing short comedy skits on Instagram.

Reflecting on his journey, Brain Jotter expressed his relentless work ethic since achieving fame and emphasized the importance of appreciating the value of purchases.

“Ever since my video went viral, I can’t go five days without working. I’ve been restless from that day until now,” he said.

“This restlessness and the experience of earning little money have taught me how to appreciate the value of my purchases,” Brain Jotter maintained.

He advised people to be cautious about the dreams they pursue, sharing that his initial dream was to rent a self-contained apartment and own a tricycle for passenger transport.

We need to be careful about the dreams we ask God for because back then, my dream was to rent a self-contained apartment and own a tricycle for carrying passengers,” he said.
