2024 Grammy Awards Nominations: Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Others Make the Cut

Lagos, November 11, 2023 – The prestigious Grammy Awards has unveiled its 2024 nominations list, featuring prominent Nigerian artists such as Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide, alongside South African singer Tyla.

Released on Friday night, the nominations include a groundbreaking category, the Best African Music Performance, signaling a significant recognition of the African music scene on the global stage.

In this debut category, the nominations boast an impressive lineup: “Amapiano” by Asake and Olamide; “City Boys” by Burna Boy; “Unavailable” by Davido feat. Musa Keys; “Rush” by Ayra Starr; and “Water” by Tyla.

Davido’s influence extends beyond the Best African Music Performance, as his song ‘Feel’ earns him a nomination in the Best Global Music Performance category. Additionally, his chart-topping album ‘Timeless’ secures a nomination for the Best Global Music Album category.

Burna Boy, known for his dynamic sound, receives recognition in the Best Global Music Performance category for his track ‘Alone’ and scores another nomination for the Best Global Music Album category with his acclaimed album ‘I Told Them’.

The 66th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is set to take place on February 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, United States.
