Under the aegis of The Disciples of Jagaban, an associate of President Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ), Senator Mohammed Saleh, and some supporters of former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu began mobilizing support for Tinubu’s speculated presidential ambition on Saturday.

They also made voters in the north aware of the need of registering and voting in 2023.

Saleh, a former Major General, was a member of the National Assembly from 2011 until 2015, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change.

Major General Hassan Usman (retd. ), Mr Muhammad Namadi, Alhaji Dangulguli, Chairman, Kaduna chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum, and Alhaji Lawal Meyere were among the politicians who came on Kaduna for the event.

Abdulhakeem Adegoke, the group’s national coordinator, said Tinubu, who is also the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, had the ability to save Nigerians from their current woes.

He stated, “Presently, the DOJ remains the first and the most widely accepted political institution for Tinubu’s 2023 presidential ambition. We, however, appreciate all other groups that come after us because we cannot do it alone, especially with the deluge of resistance and opposition towards our principal.

“We know his capacity to change the scenario; his capacity to change things from negative to positive. He has done it in Lagos State.”

Saleh stressed the need for the youths to register and vote. “Power belongs to the people, but what is that power, it is the voter’s card,” he said. “We in DOJ have the responsibility of raising quality participation in politics. Running a country like Nigeria is not a child’s play; you must possess requisite exposition to run Nigeria.”

The former general further stated that even though he’s not against to a young Nigerian being the next President, the country currently requires an experienced leader such as Tinubu.

Usman also added that, despite his work as a security expert, the country’s current circumstances gave him restless nights. He went on to say that all hands should be on deck to guarantee that people of voting age register and vote in 2023 for a worthy leader.
