It is no longer news that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared his intention to run for President in the 2023 election on the party’s platform.

Tinubu announced his decision to run for President when he visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to advise him of his plans.

However, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s announcement to run for President has elicited mixed emotions from Nigerians.

Some believe Tinubu should step down in favor of one of his political supporters, while others see his announcement as a positive development.

Meanwhile, several prominent All Progressives Congress leaders may not support his presidential ambitions in 2023. Senator Babafemi Ojudu is one among the APC leaders who has publicly stated that he does not back Tinubu’s presidential ambitions.

Babafemi Ojudu has stated that he will not back Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for the presidency. He made it clear to the general public that he will not do anything that goes against his morals.

Senator Babafemi Ojudu served as President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Political Matters. Senator Ojudu asserted that he was not made successful by Tinubu, contrary to popular belief. Ojudu went on to say that before meeting Tinubu, he was a successful publisher.

Senator Ojudu has stated that he will always act in accordance with his conscience. Senator Ojudu is now leading the campaign of Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who is running for President under the APC platform.

Senator Ojudu has stated that he will not be intimidated by those who term him a traitor since he did not support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential campaign. Senator Babafemi was the Senator who represented Ekiti Central Senatorial District from 2011 until 2015.

Though there are numerous APC leaders who may work against Tinubu’s presidential ambitions, Senator Ojudu has stated unequivocally that he does not back Tinubu. Meanwhile, he has not stated why he does not support him.
