Wike Opens Up On Plot To Impeach Rivers State Governor Fubara

In a recent media chat in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Nyesom Wike, addressed the political tension in Rivers state, denying any involvement in the alleged plot to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Wike said that even if he were the mastermind, Governor Fubara failed to communicate with him about the impeachment threats.

During the chat, Wike stated, “If they (the state house of assembly members) are impeaching you, did you call me? Assuming I’m the one who plotted it, for example. ‘Did you call me, ‘sir, they want to impeach me o (sic)?’

Earlier, the Ijaw National Congress (INC) cautioned Wike for insinuating ownership of a “political structure” in Rivers state. INC stated that political structures should not be personal property and are transient, just like power.
