Watch Moment Tinubu Throws Jabs At NLC, ‘To Wait Till 2027’

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has criticized the National Labour Congress (NLC) for organizing a nationwide protest during his nine-month-old administration.

The President made these remarks on Thursday, February 29, during the launch of the Red Line rail transit in Lagos State.

Tinubu expressed his disapproval of the NLC’s actions. He said, “Allow me to throw a jab here, the Labour Union, you should understand that no matter how much we cling to our freedom and rights, you can’t force a strike within nine months of an administration, that is unacceptable.”

He further stated that if they wish to engage in the electoral process, they should wait until 2027. Tinubu urged for peace and highlighted that the NLC is not the sole representative voice of Nigerians.

“If you want to participate in the electoral process, wait until 2027, if not maintain peace, you are not the only voice of Nigerians.”
