The CEO of the microblogging site Twitter, Jack Dorsey, has stepped down from his post, according to the company’s announcement on Monday. Following Dorsey’s resignation, Twitter’s CTO, Parag Agarwal, has been named the company’s new CEO.
The American businessman was one of the company’s founders, serving as CEO from 2006 to 2010 and then again from 2016 to 2021.
“I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders. My trust in Parag as Twitter’s CEO is deep. His work over the past 10 years has been transformational. I’m deeply grateful for his skill, heart, and soul. It’s his time to lead,” he said.
