Tension As Terrorists Raid ASUU Chairman’s Home, Abduct Six Family Members

At least six people were abducted by suspected terrorists during an attack on the home of Abdurrahman Adamu, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities at the Federal University of Gusau (FUGUS).

In the early hours of Wednesday, gunmen attacked the ASUU chairman’s home in Damba Quarters, a suburb of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

Five of the kidnapped people were abducted from the ASUU chairman’s residence, according to a member of the institution’s staff and a close relative of the ASUU leader.

A neighbor, who works in the university’s bursary department, was also kidnapped by the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, because the ASUU leader did not sleep in that house on Tuesday night, he was not present when the raid occurred.

His younger brother, a niece, a nephew, and two of his wives’ younger sisters are among those kidnapped in the ASUU chairman’s home.

“Five of them and one Abbas Umar who is his neighbour and also a staff of Bursary Department, Federal University Gusau,” the source disclosed.

However, the state’s police authorities have yet to confirm the recent kidnappings.
