Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed disciple of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has raised concerns about the ongoing violence in Benue state. In a tweet, he alleged that the Taliban of Nigeria has taken the holy war of Jihad to the IDP camp, where people are taking refuge after being chased out of their ancestral land with the help of the Nigerian army.
Ekpa went on to warn people in Biafraland that they would have suffered a similar fate if not for the efforts of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and the Biafra Liberation Army, who are working to secure their borders. He also said that without their sophisticated weapons and efforts, terrorists would have overrun their land, just like in Benue state.
The situation in Benue state has been dire, with bandits attacking IDP camps and killing families, as reported in January and April 2023. Ekpa criticized the government’s inability to fish out the attackers of the IDP camps in 2022, January 2023, and now, stating that they are deceiving people by claiming they will fish out the attackers to make them comfortable.
He also revealed that the Biafra Liberation Army has taken over their borders, and those who manage to cross will be dealt with.
