Sani Dangote, the younger brother of Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, died in the United States after a long illness.
He was the Dangote Group’s Vice President.
His death was confirmed by family sources. He was alleged to have died in a US hospital on Sunday.

He was a well-established businessman with investments in major sectors of the economy before his death. Manufacturing, agriculture, banking, and oil services are just a few examples.
He served on the board of Nigerian Textile Mills Plc, Nutra Sweet Limited, Gum Arabic Limited, Dangote Textile Mills Limited, Alsan Insurance Brokers, Dan-Hydro Company Limited, Dansa Food Processing Company Limited, and Dangote Farms Limited were among the companies.
In addition to being a professional polo player, he was the Deputy Chairman of the African Gum Arabic Producers Association and a two-time President of Lagos Polo Club.
He was named Consul-General of the Romanian Embassy in Nigeria in honor of his outstanding leadership qualities.
Sani was a member of various Chambers of Commerce, as well as a Fellow of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Shipping and President of the Fertilizer Producers and Suppliers Association (“FERSAN”).
The death was confirmed by the Dangote Group in a brief statement issued late Sunday night.
