Relieved Majority: Buhari on Supreme Court’s Judgment

Former President Muhammadu Buhari responded to the Supreme Court’s decision to confirm President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

In a statement signed by Garba Shehu, the spokesperson for the ex-President, it was said that the highest court’s decision to reject the appeals by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) is a good thing for him and most Nigerians.

The ex-President said the same thing he said about the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Court on September 6, 2022. The court confirmed that Tinubu won the election.

He said that the decision shows that most people wanted it, even though there was a small group of people who strongly disagreed.

Now that we’ve reached the final bus stop, after a long and costly 8-month legal journey, the country deserves a break. The opposing side has put up a strong fight.

Now that they have used up all their rights as allowed by the constitution, they should accept the invitation from the Tinubu/Shettima APC government. Buhari also said that people should let the government handle their administration and enjoy all the benefits that the All Progressives Congress (APC) promised.

He was worried about the low number of people who voted in the entire country, especially in cities. He said this needs to change because Nigeria values and enjoys having a democracy.

Buhari hoped that Tinubu and his team would have a successful time in office.
