Private Universities Admit People Who Could Not Pass JAMB And They Graduate With First Class – ASUU President

As the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) continue to meet in order to find a way to the more six months old strike actions by lecturers of public universities, the national president of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke while speaking on Channels TV knocks private universities for lowering the standard of education in the country.

While responding to the question on whether private universities are better managed than public institutions, Prof. Osodeke retorted that there is no way anyone can compare private universities with the University of Ibadan and Bayero University, Kano.

The ASUU president said that today JAMB is being forced to reduce the cut-off mark to a lowly 120 as a result of the bastardization of primary and secondary education by private schools. He added that those who could not pass JAMB are quickly admitted into private universities and these same people eventually graduate with First Class Honours degree certificates.
