During the Arise TV morning show, the Nigerian journalist and presenter, Oseni Rufai, reacted to the statement of the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s (PCC) Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, and its Director of Strategic Communication, Mr. Dele Alake, accusing Arise News of being biased against the APC Presidential Candidate, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They also accused Rufai of supporting the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
As regards this, Oseni Rufai stated that no other candidates have received the kind of heat Peter Obi receives each time he comes to Arise News, yet they say he is biased. Ha added that he loves everybody just like his religion teaches him, pointing out that he is only expressing his views as a journalist.
According to him, “Part of the toughest interview we’ve had here has been with Peter Obi.” Trust me, with the kind of heat we give to Mr. Peter Obi when he’s here, I’m not sure we’ve been able to integrate other presidential candidates on this platform like that. And that’s the level of objectivity because, you see, they say all sorts of things about me and do all sorts of things, but what I want them to know is that I love them irrespective of the hatred.”
