The chairman of the National Democratic Mandate Group (NDMG), Imo State chapter, Chikwe Nwachukwu, has advised South east region agitators for president of Igbo extraction to succeed president Muhammadu Buhari to drop their agitation, which he described as parochial and naïve
Instead of focusing on finding an Igbo president, he believes that the agitators should conduct a clinical search for a leader with the necessary vision, foresight, and administrative acumen who believes in justice, unity, and equity to rescue the country from its current state of abyss, regardless of his geopolitical zonal background.
In an exclusive chat with our correspondent, the NDMG chairman stated that, given the current situation of the country, Nigerians should cast aside tribal emotions and ethnic cleavages in search of a visionary leader who would address the litany of problems that the people are facing.
“Before, Dubai was almost a desert, but today, it has become the word destination centre for commerce, industry, agriculture, manufacturing, science and technology and this was made possible by a purposeful, dynamic, visionary and pragmatic leadership and this is what we want,” he stated
