Early Life And Education

Mayowa Oluyeba, a prominent Nigerian filmmaker and broadcast technology consultant, was born on June 2 in Lagos State, Nigeria. His educational journey took him to Saint Agnes Primary School and later Maryland Comprehensive High School, both located in Maryland, Lagos. Oluyeba pursued his higher education in Banking and Finance at Kwara State Polytechnic, Kwara State, Nigeria. Additionally, he enhanced his skills by obtaining an online certification in People Analytics from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. Notably, he specialized in Customer Analytics and Operation Analytics during this certification.


Oluyeba’s entry into the creative industry unfolded when he fortuitously encountered the late Film Producer/Director, Amaka Igwe. This pivotal moment led him to join Solar Productions, where he worked alongside directors such as Olumide Ofere and Remi Ogunpitan, gaining valuable exposure to TV and film production.

Special Effects Ventures

In 1997, Mayowa Oluyeba collaborated with his friend Remi Kehinde to establish Mega Visions, a special effects company dedicated to home videos. The duo contributed special effects to several movies, including ‘Haunted’ and ‘Oshodi Oke,’ featuring actress Ronke Ojo.

Reuters News Agency and Reporting Career

In the year 2000, Oluyeba joined Reuters News Agency, serving as a news stringer. During this time, he covered breaking news stories across Nigeria, shot footage for Africa Journal, and transmitted news via live wire. His reporting spanned critical events, including the late Moshood Abiola’s political era and Yoruba/Hausa conflicts.

Transition to Bi-Communications

Subsequently, Mayowa Oluyeba transitioned to Bi-Communications, where he worked as an Editor. He played a key role in the Nigerian Police-sponsored series ‘Crime Fighters – the Police & You,’ collaborating with Director/Producer Tade Ogidan.

Driven by his passion and expertise, Oluyeba founded Phoenix Visions Limited. This company specializes in providing consultancy services in Broadcast Studio Configuration and Installations, Live Streaming, Equipment Purchase, and General Broadcast Engineering and Maintenance.
