Many Injured, As Muslim Parents Protest Against Hijab Wearing Ban

Many indigenes and students have been injured after Muslim parents took to the street to protest against hijab-wearing ban that was placed at a secondary school in Ogun state.

Weeks ago, a Secondary school named Oyun Baptist High School in Ijagbo, Oyun Local Government in Kwara State rejected the use of hijab by female students to the school premises.

The order was made because the school happened to be a missionary school. However, the Kwara state government directed that the school should allow the use of Hijab by Muslims, but the school turned it down.

Earlier today, many indigenes and students were injured, after Muslim parents took to the street to protest against the hijab-wearing ban by the school authorities.

The protest was termed a peaceful one before it escalated and led to a machete fight. The police were immediately beckoned and they immediately swung to action to put the pandemonium under care.
